Truficient HVAC is a residential air conditioning contractor that has experience in all types of residential HVAC repairs. Sometimes the repairs are related to air flow and comfort issues.
Here’s a look at a repair we did on an AC system for a home in Dallas Texas. The customer was complaining of insufficient cooling.
After checking pressures and performing diagnostics it was determined the unit was low on refrigerant. We added more refrigerant plus a leak stop kit.
When our tech hooked up the gauges to the unit it indicated a small leak because the low pressure side was low on R22 refrigerant. The pressure should be around 75 lbs.
After charging the unit with the correct amount of refrigerant we have the right charge. When adding refrigerant, there’s more than just putting in refrigerant to get the correct charge. We have to check the superheat or subcool depending on what type of metering device is in place.
We use refrigerant scales to weigh in our charge so we have an accurate count of the refrigerant we use.
